MRI findings predict poststroke epilepsy after mechanical thrombectomy for large vessel occlusion

Findings from MRI may help predict the development of poststroke epilepsy (PSE) in patients undergoing mechanical thrombectomy (MT), according to researchers in Austria.

Development of PSE is an important long-term complication of stroke, the researchers noted. However, data are lacking on the risk of PSE after MT in patients with large vessel occlusion.
